NASA Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) Version 3.0 Global 1 arc second coverage now includes Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Australia in 1° X 1° tiles at 1 arc second (about 30 meters) resolution. This database can be used to include the Terrain Awareness feature, such as the one in Map Pilot Pro, instead of the altitude relative to ground that relies on the drone's ability to detect obstacles.
This feature is under development. For more accurate results a user should have his own elevation data for a certain area.
Please bring this feature asap, it is critical for mountain surveying!
